On November 12, 2022, Chomthana, a Thailand-based subsidiary of Yili Group, was awarded the “2022 Excellent Practices Establishment on Labour Relations and Welfare National Level” by the Ministry of Labour of Thailand for the second consecutive year.

The Thai Ministry of Labour grants this honorable award to businesses for their exceptional labor relations and welfare practices. The awardees have been found to have cultivated exceptional labor relations, continually enhanced employee welfare, and to have built effective communication mechanisms with labor unions or welfare committees.

Chomthana currently employs over 1,000 people, of which 99% is comprised of locals. By renovating staff eating areas and lounges and improving available air-conditioned shuttle bus service, it has managed to create a better environment for employees. In addition, Chomthana supplies various professional skill training courses for local employees.

During the pandemic, Chomthana added over 200 positions and increased salaries and benefits. It has successively invested more than THB 10 million on employee’s health protection kits, which include masks, alcohol sanitizer, PCR testing, vaccines and other items. Yili is dedicated to meeting employees’ needs and improving their sense of belonging and fulfillment.

Yili’s worldwide network works together in harmony to advance Chomthana’s business success over time. Cremo ice cream, the company’s signature product, is ranked among Thailand’s top three ice cream brands. The product is currently also exported to Singapore, Malaysia, the United States, France, Australia and other nations and regions.

Chomthana has been recognized not just for its exceptional labor conditions, but also for its dedication to green and health standards. As a result, the company was awarded the Green Industrial Enterprise Certification and the FDA Quality Award by Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health in 2020 and 2021.

Yili is also dedicated to wider its social responsibilities in Thailand. In response to pandemics in Thailand, the Group has donated medical supplies and dairy products to the Thai Ministry of Public Health, the Thai Red Cross Society, and Pathum Thani Hospital. Furthermore, Yili has developed public welfare programs such as the Meilan Book Donation Campaign, a community-based aid program called “One Village, One Product”, and a farmer support project.

As one of the world’s top five dairy companies and the number one in Asia, Yili is writing a new chapter in the Asia-Pacific region. With production bases in Thailand and Indonesia forming a “double center” in SEA, products such as Cremo, Joyday, AMBPOMIAL, Youngfun, and Westgold have successfully entered the SEA market.

Global development requires global synergy. Yili will continue to accelerate the pace of internationalisation, explore new paths of global cooperation, promote win-win industrial cooperation, achieve value sharing, and fulfill Yili’s vision of “World Integrally Sharing Health.”
